What is Bacterial Vaginosis?

Bacterial Vaginosis, or BV for short, is vaginal inflammation that’s caused by bacteria overgrowth due to an imbalance. While BV is not a STD, there is a higher chance of developing this with more sexual intercourse. Another way it develops is by douching. Douching is cleaning the vagina out with water or other fluids. The store bought versions usually have water, vinegar, baking soda, or iodine.

The symptoms:

Unusual vaginal discharge

Burning during urination

Itching around vagina

Vaginal irritation

Steps to help prevent:

Whenever it comes to vaginal health, the answer is natural and chemical free, like our Pretty Panty. Make sure to be using just water to clean the outside of your vagina. Using Femi Secret products during your menstrual cycle can help, as well as using the Femi wipes if you do feel like you need to clean up more.

Keeping yourself safe during sexual relations is the next step. Make sure to use protection and make sure that yourself, and partners, are free of any STDs.
